A ‘Royal Invitation’ to sail on the ‘most luxurious steamship on the Nile’ formerly the property of King Farouk of Egypt

 

From Aswan (Apr 2008)

 

Day 1 Fly from London Gatwick to Aswan. Embark on the SS Misr for a seven-night stay and sail later to Kom Ombo and overnight.

Day 2 An early morning visit to the temple of Sobek and Haroeris. The day is then spent sailing to Esna. Transit the Esna Lock and continue to Luxor.

Day 3 A morning visit to the West Bank includes the Valley of the Kings, temple of Queen Hatshepsut and Colossi of Memnon. Luxor Temple private reception.

Day 4 Visit the temples of Karnak and Luxor before cruising to Esna.

Day 5 Sail to Edfu to visit the temple of Horus and continue later to Kom Ombo.

Day 6 Sail to Aswan. Afternoon felucca ride and visit to the Botanical Gardens on Kitchener Island. Optional Sound & Light performance at Philae.

Day 7 An optional excursion to Abu Simbel (bookable in advance). Evening Nubian show.

Day 8 A morning visit to the High Dam and island temple of Philae. Return flight.
