Arctic

The quest for the Northwest Passage began in the 16th century and the Arctic is full of the history of several hundred years of exploration. Today, the construction of ships with specialised hulls has enabled us not only to experience the habitable lands within the Arctic Circle that were inaccessible to those earlier travellers but also, on special voyages, to reach the North Pole itself.
