Cruising La Serenissima
5 nights on full board on the MS Michelangelo cruising the Venetian lagoon with 3 nights at a fine mooring in Venice and included visits to Ferrara and Verona
Day 1 Fly from your chosen airport to Venice and transfer to the MS Michelangelo at St. Basilio Maritime Station for embarkation. Early evening cruise to Riva Sette Martiri on the Venetian lagoon for the night. Welcome cocktail and dinner on board.
Day 2 Early morning cruise along the Adriatic coast to Taglio di Po from where the coach will depart for an optional guided tour of Padua, the city of St Anthony. For those staying on board the boat will cruise to Polesella.
Day 3 Depart by coach for an included tour of Ferrara, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, this was once home to the famous Este court. After lunch on board, there is an included afternoon visit to Verona, the beautiful Italian city known as piccola Roma and immortalised by Romeo and Juliet. Gala Dinner on board.
Day 4 Cruise to Chioggia, a port city of Roman origin which once rivalled Venice. Time for independent exploration before lunch on board and the return cruise to Venice for a late afternoon optional guided tour of the Doges’ Palace and Piazza San Marco. Evening at leisure to explore Venice by night.
Day 5 Optional excursion to the islands in the lagoon: Murano, famed for its glasswork and Burano noted for its lace and colourful fishermen’s houses. Returning to Venice for the afternoon there will be the opportunity to take a ride in a gondola. Afternoon and evening free.
Day 6 Boat returns to St. Basilio Maritime station for disembarkation after breakfast, transfer to airport and return flight to the UK.
