As well as the chance to lean towards the Tower of Pisa or uncover the magic of Pompeii, Italy’s greatest cities are joined by Sicilian Taormina and Croatian Zadar
MV Discovery
Formerly the well-known Island Princess, this 350-cabin vessel was extensively refurbished during 2002 and early 2003 by the ship's owner, the former chairman of Ocean Cruise Lines and Orient Lines, together with his experienced team.
The ship's captains are the Norwegian Erik Bjurstedt, well-known as captain for many years of the Marco Polo, and the British Captain Derrick Kemp, who has had command of passenger ships for the past 15 years, including Caledonian Star and Saga Rose. They are supported by a team of European officers and friendly international crew, predominantly from the Philippines, who are renowned for their high standards of attentive, polite service. Together with an experienced team of cruise staff, guest speakers and a highly accomplished team of musicians and entertainers, they will do all they can to ensure that your time on Discovery is as rewarding and enjoyable as possible.
Expressly conceived for a 'Discovery' style of cruising, this mid-size ship of elegant lines and generous deck space now boasts a new two-tier health and beauty spa, two swimming pools (one of which is heated and can be covered if necessary), three restaurants, a well-stocked library, refreshingly decorated public areas and tastefully renewed cabins. Perhaps the most noticeable feature of Discovery is the sense of spaciousness you will feel on board. So look forward to cruising on a friendly, sea-kindly vessel with the highest standards of comfort, safety and attention to detail throughout.
