An Italian Journey
A classical journey to the heart of Italy, staying in 4-star hotels in Naples, Florence and Rome, also visiting Pompeii, Assisi, Pisa and Sienna
Day 1 Fly from London Gatwick to Naples for a two-night stay at the 4-star Hotel Una.
Day 2 Morning visit to Pompeii. A late afternoon walking tour of historic Naples.
Day 3 Travel to Assisi for a guided visit before continuing to Florence. Two nights at the 4-star Hotel Fenice Palace.
Day 4 A morning walking tour. Afternoon visit to Uffizi (timed entry).
Day 5 A visit to Pisa is followed by a scenic drive through Chianti to Siena. After a short guided tour continue to Rome for a three-night stay at the 4-star Hotel President or similar.
Day 6 Morning sightseeing includes the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Trevi Fountain. Afternoon free.
Day 7 Morning visit to the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. Afternoon free.
Day 8 Transfer to Naples for the flight to Gatwick or continue to Sorrento for a further seven nights.
Extension - A week in Sorrento
Grand Hotel Vesuvio: A four-star resort with fine views across to Mount Vesuvio with a spacious marble lobby, terrace, large pool, restaurant and bar. Situated approximately 2 miles from Sorrento’s town centre there is a courtesy bus service. All 229 air-conditioned rooms have private facilities, balcony, hairdryer, safe, mini-bar and satellite TV. Half board and transfers included.
