The Magnificence of Lisbon

Day 1 Fly from your chosen airport to Lisbon and transfer to the Hotel Mundial for a four-night stay. There will be a welcome information meeting (time to be advised), with a glass of port.

Day 2 Take a tram to St. George’s Castle with panoramic views over the city (a 10-minute walk from the tram stop to the castle). Tour the nearby Museum of Decorative Arts and stroll through the cobbled streets of Alfama. Please note that there are numerous steps to be negotiated. Take a second tram and disembark in the elegant quarter of Bairro Alto. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3 Take a tram to Belém and visit the Ajuda Palace, take coffee and ‘pastel de nata’ (a Portuguese pastry) at the atmospheric ‘Antiga Confeitaria de Belém’ and tour the Jerónimos Monastery. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 4 Take a train to Sintra to tour a former royal palace, now known as the National Palace. Enjoy a local speciality cake, with coffee, before continuing to the Quinta da Regaleira. Afternoon at leisure for further exploration of Sintra.

Day 5 Transfer to Lisbon airport for the return flight to your chosen airport.
