The full Yangtse cruise to Shanghai, the imperial capitals and China’s pandas
Day 1 Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Beijing.
Day 2 Transfer to the 4-star Plaza Hotel for three nights.
Day 3 Visit Tian An Men Square, the Forbidden City and Summer Palace. Peking Opera performance.
Day 4 A full-day excursion to the Great Wall at Mutianyu and Sacred Way. Peking Duck dinner.
Day 5 Visit the Temple of Heaven. Fly to Xian and walk on the ancient city wall. Stay two nights at the 4-star Grand New World Hotel.
Day 6 Visit the Terracotta Army, Great Mosque and Wild Goose Pagoda. Evening Tang Dynasty dinner and show.
Day 7 Visit the Yangling Tombs. Fly to Chengdu for two nights at the 4-star Tibet Hotel.
Day 8 Visit the Panda Breeding Research Centre, then the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project.
Day 9 Travel by road to Dazu to visit the Buddhist Caves. Continue to Chongqing for overnight at the 4-star Holiday Inn North.
Day 10 Embark on the MS Victoria Prince. Sail downstream to visit the ‘ghost city’ of Fengdu.
Day 11 Sail through the Wu and Qutang gorges visiting the Daning River and Little Gorges. Traverse the Three Gorges Dam Ship Lock.
Day 12 A morning visit to the Three Gorges Dam site project. Sail downstream towards Wuhan.
Day 13 Sail to Hubei. Visit the Provincial Museum.
Day 14 Sail to Guichi and explore the scenic resort of Mount Huangshan.
Day 15 Arrive Nanjing for an excursion to Sun Yat Sen Mausoleum, Confucius Temple area and market. Sail in the evening for Shanghai.
Day 16 Disembark and transfer to the 4-star Hotel Lansheng (2008) or 4-star Holiday Inn Downtown Shanghai (2009) for two nights. Visit the Yu Garden, old town area, Jade Buddha temple, the Bund and Nanjing Road. Evening Acrobatic show.
Day 17 A day excursion by rail to Suzhou. Visit the Garden of the Master of the Fishing Nets, the Garden of Couples, a silk reeling factory and enjoy a short canal cruise.
Day 18 Return flight, reaching London Heathrow later the same day.
