Angkor Wat & the Mekong

By paddle steamer along one of the world's great rivers and visiting Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Phnom Penh and the temples of Angkor

13 nights from £1785

The original 'Pandaw' was a Scots-built paddle steamer owned and operated by the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company in Burma. With their shallow draft technology perfected over the past 150 years these vessels are ideally suited to the similar low-water conditions found on stretches of the Mekong River.

This seven-night cruise itinerary provides an excellent means of travelling in great comfort to places unreachable by road and makes possible exploration of the vast but little known region between the former French colonial city of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and the ancient Khmer capital of Angkor. Siem Reap is our base for a full programme of sightseeing exploring the fabled temples of the ancient capital of the Khmer empire.
