St Catherine's & Petra
An enhanced arrangement for the classic combination of the 'rose-red' city and St. Catherine's Monastery with accommodation in fine 5-star hotels
Day 1 Fly from London Gatwick to Aqaba and transfer to the Mövenpick Resort in Petra for a three-night stay.
Day 2 A full-day excursion to the Nabataean city of Petra. On foot through the ‘Siq’ to the Treasury, then to the Street of Façades, the Theatre, Royal Tombs, Colonnaded Street, Byzantine church, the Temple, Monumental Arch, Qasr el-Bint Faroun and perhaps the climb up to the Monastery, el Deir.
Day 3 Use opportunity to return to Petra for a second visit. A drink at the Nabataean Cave Bar has been arranged. Optional ‘Petra by Night’ excursion.
Day 4 An optional excursion to Little Petra. Travel to Aqaba and sail to Taba. Two nights at the Mövenpick Resort.
Day 5 Visit St. Catherine’s Monastery.
Day 6 Return by boat to Aqaba for two nights at the Mövenpick Resort Aqaba.
Day 7 An optional excursion to Wadi Rum includes a 90-minute 4-wheel drive and dinner in a Bedouin tent with local musicians.
Day 8 An optional morning excursion on the ‘Yellow Submarine’: a ‘see-through’ semisubmersible viewing the marine splendours of the Red Sea and Coral Reserve. Return flight.
Extension – Aqaba & Dead Sea
Four nights at the Mövenpick Resort Aqaba followed by three nights on the shores of the Dead Sea at the 5-star Mövenpick Resort & Spa with the option to visit Jerash and on the pilgrimage trail to Madaba, Mount Nebo and Bethany.
