Taking in almost all of Discovery’s winter programme, this magnificent voyage will live up to its once-in-a-lifetime billing.
Lasting over three months, it spans a myriad of seasons, climates, habitats and eco-systems as it reaches down to Antarctica and heads for the Old World – the long way around. From the Austral summer of the White Continent to the tropical breezes that caress the Caribbean, you’ll have the chance to take in a host of unique sights. You’ll wonder at ancient lines drawn across the world’s driest desert inland from Arica,
meet Kuna Indian tribesmen in the islands off Panama, or contrast city and village life on remote banks and tributaries of the Amazon. Headlining our many overnight stops are visits to Easter Island, the Galapagos and Havana.

Sculpted Antarctic ice cliffs, savannahs spotted with wildlife, Indian Ocean atolls lost in empty aquamarine seas, temples and citadels taking you back through the ages – contrasts such as these crop up daily on this epic voyage that meanders from the Argentine, around the Cape of Good Hope, through Suez, Gibraltar, all the way to Britain’s shores. Featured are extended stays in Cape Town and Mumbai, in Mauritius and Safaga, gateway to Egypt’s great legacies
