From the Amazon to Machu Picchu

A cruise of exploration on the rivers of the Amazon combined with a tour of Peru's Inca heritage

15 nights from £2995

This itinerary unusually combines the two most visited regions of Peru, the Amazon and the Andes, in a single arrangement. Both regions moreover are explored in detail and the Amazonian portion of the arrangement in a charmingly unusual way, utilising a replica period cruise vessel. The lost city of Machu Picchu is reached by a scenic train journey along the Urubamba valley from the former Inca capital of Cuzco, located high in the Andes. Far below, on the Pacific coast stands the modern day capital, Lima, famous for its Spanish colonial heritage and splendid museums.
