Travel Insurance
We have arranged a competitive travel insurance scheme, prepared by JLT Risk Solutions Limited on behalf of Kuoni Travel Limited (trading as Voyages Jules Verne) and underwritten in accordance with the authorisation held by Europ Assistance Holdings Limited. Details may
be obtained on application. A detailed copy of the cover will be forwarded to you with your confirmation invoice. A specimen policy is also available on request should you require further information before booking.
Available only to U.K. residents who are in the U.K. at the time of payment of the premium. Non-U.K. residents are advised to make arrangements within their own country. Your premium should be forwarded to us with your holiday deposit in order to ensure that you are protected by the coverage under the holiday cancellation section of the insurance. It is a requirement of the booking that you purchase either this insurance scheme or an alternative
insurance policy, providing at least comparable cover.
Important Strict Medical Health Requirements
You must read and accept the following medical conditions which apply to the VJV Insurance Policy. This insurance operates on the following basis:
- To be covered you must be healthy and fit to travel on your planned trip.
- The insurance will NOT cover you when you are travelling against medical advice or with the intention of obtaining medical treatment abroad.
No claim arising directly or indirectly from any Pre-existing Medical Condition affecting you will be covered unless:
- You have declared that condition to us; and
- You have declared any changes in your health or prescribed medication; and
- We have accepted that condition for insurance in writing
Each insured person who has a Pre-existing Medical condition must declare it before each period of insurance.
To declare a Pre-existing Medical Condition or a change in your state of health or prescribed medication, you should contact us during office hours on: 0870 737 5847
Based on our assessment of the medical information supplied to us, we will decide whether or not the person is suitable for insurance, or if certain exclusions, restrictions or amendments to the policy terms should be imposed. If we offer cover, it is subject to written confirmation by us, and there will be an additional premium to pay
Failure to declare any Pre-existing Medical Condition that is relevant to the insurance could result in the rejection of a claim.
A Pre-existing Medical Condition is defined as:
1) Any past or current Medical Condition that has given rise to symptoms or for which any form of treatment or prescribed medication, medical consultation, investigation or follow-up/check-up has been required or received during the 2 years prior to the commencement of cover under this policy and/or prior to any trip: and
2) Any cardiovascular or circulatory condition (e.g. heart condition, hypertension, blood clots, raised cholesterol, stroke) that has occurred at any time prior to the commencement of cover under this policy and/or prior to any trip
Cancellation, Curtailment or Early Return:
This policy will NOT cover any claims under Section 8 (Cancellation, Curtailment or Early Return) arising directly or indirectly from a Pre-existing Medical Condition, known to you prior to the commencement of the period of insurance, affecting any close relative, travelling companion who is not insured under this policy or person with whom you intend to stay whilst on your trip:
- for which they have required surgery, or inpatient treatment or hospital consultations, or have been prescribed medication or undergone any treatment, during the 90 days immediately prior to the commencement of the period of insurance; or
- if they were on a waiting-list for, or have knowledge of the need for, surgery, inpatient treatment or investigation at any hospital or clinic at the commencement of the period of insurance; or
