Travelling in Morocco

General Notes

  • We use the official Moroccan star ratings for the hotels but these normally equate to one category lower by British standards.

  • During the month of Ramadan commencing approximately 1 September 2008, there may be occasional restrictions on alcohol consumption, restaurant facilities and entertainment although international hotels are generally unaffected.
  • Tipping is a way of life in Morocco and everyone who performs any kind of service is likely to expect a tip. Further guidance will be given before travel.
  • On touring arrangements where meals are included the food is likely to be Moroccan in character and can be somewhat lacking in variety.
  • Some road journeys, especially in the Atlas Mountains, can be long and arduous and may require early morning starts.
  • Mobility – our tours involve much walking especially when sightseeing, frequently over uneven terrain, and in towns and markets so a degree of fitness and mobility is essential. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are able to keep up with the group and its activities.
